by the way, the half the sky documentary on PBS this week was pretty great. i’m so happy these issues are  gaining more media attention. i’m telling ya, nick kristof gives oregonians a good name :)

of course, the stories of maternal mortality and edna adnan hospital’s work in somaliland were the most familiar and touching to me- it made me want to finish my training already go back to ethiopia, stat. the whole documentary is four hours long, but i’m willing to bet that even one segment will inspire you to raise your global awareness and support these fantastic organizations working on the ground to empower women. if you missed it, watch here.
